It was a great day on Thursday (14th September) as we watched Double Jump land his debut win for Al Mohamediya Racing in a 7f Nursery Handicap at Doncaster.
In the hands of Ben Curtis, we were delighted with his performance as he hurtled home from a back-marker position to steal the lead, overtaking the field with impressive form. It was great to see him improve so well on his last outing and finish this race so strongly with almost a length in hand. This occasion was also the first time he has run on softer ground, which seemed to play to his advantage on the day. He is a lovely two-year-old, that promises speed, so we look forward to what further progress he shows from this race.
We were also thrilled with a tremendous frame finish from Dragon Leader, who has consistently proved himself with a faultless winning formula, with three successes from three career starts. Running in the Class 2 two-year-old stakes over 6½ furlongs, under the steer of William Buick, the pair broke smartly and were quick to find the front in the field of 17 runners. Shaken up by his jockey with two furlongs from home, he continued to quicken and battled on to sustain second place over the line. He is a horse that continues to impress, and we now have our sights set on his entry in the Listed Two Year Old Trophy race at Redcar next month.
