A Winning Double at Haydock

We were delighted to celebrate back-to-back winners this weekend, as racing action led us to fixtures at Haydock Park.

First to arrive in the winner’s enclosure was Cool Dividend. With a trip under his belt already this season, with a well earned second place from Doncaster, we were pleased to see him travel confidently and handle the pressure of closing stages with a stylish execution from Richard Kingscote. He is a promising three-year-old sprinter, who is now off the mark with his first victory and clearly favouring the drop back to six furlongs. A great result for his owning connections, Teme Valley and Opulence Thoroughbreds.

Our next win closely followed in the shape of Pedro Valentino, who set about his second career win with an excellent showcase. With an unfavourable draw, leaving stall 13 on the far side, he had to work hard to make his way across the track in early stages but quickly landed in front leading the pack with a well-established pace under Richard Kingscote. Approaching three from home, Richard began to shake him up and, with the help of added cheekpieces this time, he stayed focused when it was clear he still had plenty to do. Retaining the lead, he fended off the competition nicely with a length and quarter, securing his first success this season. Now racing as a three-year-old, he is improving all the time and one we look forward to seeing more from.
