Cracking Gold Kicks off 2024 with Winning Debut

It was a brilliant result for our three-year-old colt Cracking Gold, who achieved a half-length lead first time out on the all-weather in a 7f maiden at Kempton on Wednesday (24th January).

Having taken our time with this horse throughout his introduction to training and leading up to his track debut, it was great to see him display such a professional attitude as he found himself nicely placed in third after the break; tracking early leaders before squeezing up the inside to hit the front with a furlong from home. Closing stages saw the heavily fancied favourite, Native Approach, step up to challenge but with plenty left in the tank, Cracking Gold edged out his rival with ease.

This was a very smart winning debut from this horse, who promises more this season. A confident and composed ride from John Fahy and tremendous outcome for his owners, Paul and Clare Rooney. Great for the team at home too as we have our first success on the board for 2024.
