It was another fantastic performance from Diligent Harry this weekend, as he landed his second consecutive Listed success in the Sprint Stakes at Southwell on Saturday. Racing over a shorter trip of five furlongs this time, dropping him back in distance for this contest wasn’t too much of a concern when we knew it would hold plenty of pace; a factor which always suits this horse. Carrying a 3lb penalty from his last victory, John Fahy had to ride a very determined race, but the pair travelled beautifully and once they hit the front it was great to see this six-year-old pull away when finding another gear to sail over the line with a length in hand.
He now celebrates his seventh win out of eleven all-weather starts, proving he is very much at home when running on this surface. We will consider our options now for his next entry but are thrilled to see his success continue. A very well done to the team at home and delighted for his owning connections, The Dilinquents.
