It was a wonderful moment for syndicate celebrations on the fourth day (28th July) of the Qatar Goodwood Festival, with a comfortable two-length win from the aptly named three-year-old filly, Get Ahead, who stormed down the middle of the track to win the five-furlong World Pool Handicap.
Drawn in stall one on the far side might have been a cause for concern but presented no problems on the day, as Adam Kirby settled her in behind before we saw her quicken smartly from behind the leaders and get her head in front inside the final furlong. It was great to see her perform so well here, and bounce back after her Ascot run to showcase the class we know her to have. Next steps will hopefully find us stepping back up in grade, but overall a very commendable run and marvellous for all connections involved. A fantastic highlight for the Beechdown team to bring home our 10th Goodwood festival winner too.
