Inca Heights Wins on Debut

It was a really promising victory last week, for our first two-year-old runner of the season, Inca Heights, at Newbury on Friday 11th April.

Breaking smartly away, he sat as a prominent front runner over the first four furlongs and enjoyed the pace, before stepping up to challenge in the closing stages with plenty left in the tank. Chasing down the final furlong, he was neck and neck with competition on either side but fought hard to sustain the lead and crossed the line by a head. David Probert gave him a really encouraging ride, and we were very pleased to see him handle himself with such a professional attitude on debut. He holds much promise for the season in front now, as we consider our next steps with our eye on suitable Royal Ascot entries.

As the progeny of Nando Parrado - our 150-1 Coventry winner from 2020 who proved himself to be a very talented two-year-old sprinter - this horse presents similar attributes making him an exciting prospect for our longstanding owners, Stephen Barrow and Julie Deadman. A very well done to the Beechdown team, as we get our first two-year-old success of the season underway.
