The team travelled to France this weekend in pursuit of some exciting action at Deauville, where we were thrilled to see James’s Delight land Listed victory in the 6f Prix Kistena on Saturday (6th July).
Given an excellent ride from Clifford Lee, the soft ground provided his perfect track conditions as the pair broke away and found a nice rhythm, tracking early leaders in a prominent position before moving up to challenge from halfway. Showcasing his impressive turn of foot, he stormed for home and won with a length and a half in hand. Proving to be a powerhouse in his racing once again, he is the ultimate professional and continues to go from strength to strength as an exciting three-year-old sprinter with consistent form, and we couldn’t be more pleased for his owners, Paul and Clare Rooney. This was made all the more exciting to achieve his first Listed success on Clare’s birthday as a well-planned result. The manner of his win suggests more black type performances beckon.
