Later that Tuesday (6th September) the winning streak continued with another impressive two-year-old performance – this time from John Chard VC in the 7f British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at Leicester.
Racing a little keenly, jockey on board John Fahy settled him well against the rail finding nice pace before taking on front runners to challenge, with two furlongs from home. The final furlong saw him battle back strongly chasing Kolsai – proving the extra half a furlong in trip this time work to his advantage – as he won by nose in a photo finish.
After taking our time with this horse over the summer following his debut back in May, it was great to see him run on so well with plenty of scope for the future. A very pleasing performance for his owner, Kevin Bailey.
