It was a great achievement to see our classy juvenile, Shagraan, finish with his head in front as the two-year-old landed his first winning success in the Novice Stakes at Windsor on Saturday (1st July).
With William Cox once again in the saddle (who also rode him for his debut just a month prior) it was very pleasing to see how this colt has taken a big step forward and progressed well since his last run. Breaking smartly and quick away, he took up a front-running position early on, finding a lovely rhythm and all the while quickening as he pulled away from the field of contenders with final furlongs in sight. Striding clear, the pair crossed the line comfortably with a winning distance of three- and three-quarter lengths.
This was a very professional display, as Shagraan showcased his sprinting capabilities with style, along with a clear appetite for racing. We look forward to watching him strengthen and grow even further, as we seek out his next move. He presents a very exciting prospect for his owner, Sheikh Sultan from Al Mohamediya Racing.
