The Beechdown team were proud to celebrate another courageous performance from stable favourite Tis Marvellous, as he strikes success again in The Oakman Group Rous Stakes at Ascot on Saturday (2nd October).
Despite the horrid weather conditions and rain leaving reservations over the ground, Tis Marvellous performed impressively to land another notable victory at his favourite track, under the steer of Adam Kirby. A confident run meant a momentous occasion for connections Stephen Barrow and Julie Deadman, as they now celebrate the horse’s third win of the year. The admirable seven-year-old now goes on to currently sit as Beechdown’s highest rated horse amongst his stable companions.
“Tis Marvellous is a legend and a real stable favourite. He's so full of confidence and a superstar to have anything to do with. We were worried about the ground, but he's coped and he just loves Ascot. He's performing at his best level ever. We'll call it quits for the season there. To a point, these sprinters do keep getting stronger with age and, to win a Listed race under a penalty, was very courageous” Clive reported to the Racing Post.
